Site Safety Officer – Major Industrial and Infrastructure Project in Stockholm

About the Role

We are now seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Safety Officer for one of Sweden's most significant industrial projects within sustainable energy and climate transition.

In this role, you will hold a key position in ensuring a safe, structured, and efficient working environment on the construction site. You will work closely with project management, contractors, and production teams in a complex and technically advanced project where safety is always the top priority.

Location: Stockholm

Scope: Full-time

Start: Immediately as agreed

Duration: Until December 2026 with possibility of extension

Responsibilities

As a Site Safety Officer, you are responsible for ensuring that all work within your assigned area is conducted in accordance with current legislation, safety requirements, and the project's guidelines.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety requirements
  • Conducting safety rounds, inspections, and audits
  • Identifying risks and performing risk assessments
  • Driving preventive safety measures
  • Developing and implementing safety routines and working methods
  • Conducting safety training and toolbox talks
  • Handling deviations, incidents, and near-misses
  • Ensuring correct documentation and reporting
  • Contributing to the development of the project's safety culture
  • Collaborating with project management, contractors, and other safety functions

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in occupational health and safety work on-site
  • Experience from construction, civil engineering, energy, or infrastructure projects
  • Documented experience in risk management and safety monitoring

Competencies

  • Very good knowledge of Swedish occupational health and safety legislation
  • Experience with risk analysis, safety audits, and safety inspections
  • Proficient in working with safety systems and reporting tools

Education

  • Vocational college education, university degree, or equivalent within occupational health, construction, engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications in occupational health and safety are meritorious

Languages

  • Fluent Swedish and English, both written and spoken
